Duties and responsibilities: Shall assume the duties of President in that officer's absence and will assist the President in the performance of his/her duties. He/She will act as the Club's representative to the Hawaii Council of Diving Clubs (HCDC) and, in that capacity, will vote or act in accordance with the wishes of the Club membership. He/She shall prepare annual budgets to include the cost of HCDC related fees, events and functions and submit them to the Treasurer by 01 January and 01 July.

Duties and responsibilities: Shall perform recording, typing, and corresponding duties as required to support the Board in the execution of it's prescribed responsibilities. Shall record and maintain the minutes of all meetings. Copies of Board meeting minutes will be provided to the Commander as requested. He/She will prepare and mail such correspondence as necessary to support the Vice President in his/her responsibilities as the Club representative to HCDC. The Secretary will maintain a current membership file and will draft a semi-annual roster of Club members and provide same to the Publicity Chairperson. He/She will update the revolving Club calendar of events at the beginning of each month and will perform additional clerical duties as required to support the Board in execution of its responsibilities. He/She will pickup the mail weekly and distribute it. He/She shall prepare annual budgets to include administrative costs and submit them to the Treasurer by 01 January and 01 July.

Duties and responsibilities: Shall be responsible for instituting procedures for the receipt of and control over all moneys. Resource control procedures will be according to nationally accepted business standards and will record all collections and expenditures made by the Club. He/She will act as manager of all moneys received. The Treasurer will maintain the Club checking account in such a manner that all checks must be counter-signed by another designated Club officer. He/She will prepare and maintain statements of financial transactions and financial condition each month. A verbal report will be presented at every business meeting. The Treasurer will ensure that an internal review of financial records and operating procedures on the control of cash and other Club assets is performed annually in November or December, or before vacating office for any cause, by a disinterested member or other qualified person selected by the Board. The Treasurer will consolidate inputs from other Board members and draft an annual Club budget and present it for approval at the Board meetings in January and July.

Duties and responsibilities: Shall be responsible for planning and conducting monthly Club dives and all special dive events. He/She shall serve, or designate a suitable representative to serve, as the Dive Master at all Club sponsored dives. He/She shall record and maintain records of the names of all boat owners and members participating in any and all Club sponsored dives. He/She shall prepare annual budgets to include the cost of all planned dives and submit them to the Treasurer by 01 January and 01 July. He/She shall preside over any ad hoc dive committees established by the President.

Publicity/Entertainment Chairperson

Duties and responsibilities: Shall prepare items which will advertise and promote Sea Lancers Diving Club for publication in the Base Bulletin and Base Newspaper. He/She shall procure appropriate trophies and awards for members. He/She shall write, publish and mail a monthly newsletter to Club Members. He/She shall prepare annual budgets to include the cost of all publicity related expenses and submit them to the Treasurer by 01 January and 01 July. He/She shall preside over any ad hoc Publicity committees established by the President.

Duties and responsibilities: Shall plan picnics to correspond with monthly Club dives and other social events. He/She should provide films, slide presentations, or guest lecturers of common interest to the membership to be presented at social or general membership meetings. He/She shall prepare annual budgets to include the cost of all entertainment events and submit them to the Treasurer by 01 January and 01 July. He/She shall preside over any ad hoc Entertainment committees established by the President.

The following three positions are appointed as Assistants to the Board of Directors. They are appointed by a simple majority vote of the elected members of the B.O.D. and are responsible directly to the Board. Their appointments will be formally reviewed semi-annually by the B.O.D. at a regularly scheduled meeting.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • He/She will maintain proper accountability and storage of all equipment owned by the Club. The Equipment Manager shall maintain Club Rental equipment, and the air system. He/she will periodically inspect the equipment to insure that all maintenance and repairs are accomplished in accordance with Board policies or other applicable industry standards. He/She will maintain a formal record of all Club rental gear to include Club assigned number, manufacturer serial number, inspection requirements, repairs performed, and hydrostatic test dates. 
  • He/She shall be certified (at Club expense) to, and will, conduct internal tank/visual cylinder inspections on Club and members' tanks. 
  • He/She will insure that an air sample is drawn from the Club air system and is analyzed every 90 days and a record made thereof. 
  • He/She will further insure that the building occupied by the Club and the surrounding area is maintained and presents a neat and orderly appearance. 
  • He/She shall prepare annual budgets to include the cost of all planned equipment related expenses and submit them to the Treasurer by 01 January and 01 July. 
  • He/She is responsible for supervising the operations of the equipment room during Club business hours. 
  • He/She will maintain sufficient inventory of repair parts to support needs of the Club and Club members. 
  • He/She will serve as the Club s primary agent for purchasing items for the Club as directed by the Board. 
  • He/She is specifically excluded from authorization to operate the cash register, accept any form of income to the club or have unaccompanied access to the cash register or income. 
  • He/She is specifically excluded from responsibility or unaccompanied access to promotional or other retail/resale items. 
  • He/She is responsible for other such tasks as directed by the BOD.

Duties and responsibilities: Shall be appointed by a simple majority vote of the elected members of the Board. He/She shall conduct an unending Safety Program IAW AFR 127-101, AFM 215-1, and other governing directives to assure that only safe procedures are used and that any unsafe acts or procedures noted are publicized. He/She will ensure that an adequate training program is established in the use of SCUBA equipment, diving techniques, safety, life saving and rescue procedures. He/She will establish, document the content of, and conduct, the safety and training briefs required by Provisional members. He/She shall prepare annual budgets to include safety and training expenses and submit them to the Treasurer by 01 January and 01 July. The Commander will be notified in writing of any change in the position of Safety and Training Advisor.

  • Responsible for accepting and accounting for Club income and operating the retail portion of the Club s operations. 
  • He/She is the only person authorized to operate the register and accept income from persons doing business with the Club. 
  • He/She will accept income, prepare a bank deposit, deposit the income in the bank and submit the bank deposit receipt to the Treasurer as specified by the Treasurer and approved by the Board. 
  • He/She is responsible for the inventory and proper accounting for promotional & other resale items. 
  • He/She is responsible for conducting membership sign-ups to include verifying and recording the certification level and experience of all new members. 
  • He/She shall prepare annual budgets to include the cost of all planned expenses and submit them to the Treasurer by 01 January and 01 July. 
  • He/She is responsible for other such tasks as directed by the BOD.
